PRIVACY POLICY
1 – This Privacy Policy aims to describe how UNIVERSAL AFIR, S.A., with registered office at Cova do Frade, parish of Ovar, S. João, Arada and S. Vicente de Pereira Jusã, 3880-020 Ovar, with a share capital of €5,800,000.00, registered under company and legal entity identification number 500 293 473 at the Ovar Land and Commercial Registry Office (“UNIVERSAL AFIR”), processes the personal data provided by users (“Users”) through the UNIVERSAL AFIR website (“Website”).
2 – UNIVERSAL AFIR is strongly committed to protecting the privacy of the personal data provided by Users of the Website.
3 – UNIVERSAL AFIR is committed to safeguarding, at all times, the rights of personal data subjects as provided for under applicable legislation.
4 – UNIVERSAL AFIR processes personal data in accordance with the legal provisions relating to the protection of personal data, in particular the provisions set out in (i) Law No. 58/2019 of 8 August, which ensures the implementation, in the Portuguese legal system, of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (“GDPR”), and (ii) the GDPR.
5 – UNIVERSAL AFIR is the data controller responsible for processing the personal data provided by Users of the Website.
6 – When processing personal data, UNIVERSAL AFIR permanently observes and complies with the following principles: (i) lawfulness of processing, (ii) transparency, (iii) purpose limitation, (iv) data minimisation, (v) accuracy, (vi) integrity and confidentiality, (vii) storage limitation and (viii) data protection by design and by default.
7- UNIVERSAL AFIR may process the following categories of personal data provided by Users of the Website:

8 – Personal data is collected directly through the UNIVERSAL AFIR Website, namely through contact forms, quotation requests, technical support requests, job applications and newsletter subscriptions.
9 – UNIVERSAL AFIR processes personal data for the following purposes:
a) managing contact requests, quotation requests and technical support requests;
b) managing commercial and pre-contractual relationships;
c) managing recruitment and selection processes;
d) sending marketing communications, including newsletters, where consent has been provided;
e) complying with legal obligations.
10 – UNIVERSAL AFIR will only process personal data where one of the following legal grounds applies: (i) consent of the data subject, (ii) performance of pre-contractual or contractual measures, (iii) compliance with a legal obligation or (iv) the legitimate interests of UNIVERSAL AFIR.
11 – Personal data subjects have the following rights: (i) the right of access and information, (ii) the right to rectification, (iii) the right to request erasure of their data (“right to be forgotten”), (iv) the right to request restriction of the processing of their personal data, (v) the right to data portability, (vi) the right to withdraw consent, (vii) the right to object to the processing of their personal data, (viii) the right not to be subject to an automated individual decision and (ix) the right to lodge a complaint.

13 – UNIVERSAL AFIR will retain personal data only for the period strictly necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
14 – Personal data will be retained:
a) for the period necessary to manage requests and any subsequent commercial relationship;
b) until consent is withdrawn, in the case of newsletter communications;
c) for an appropriate and limited period in the case of job applications;
d) for the period necessary to comply with legal obligations or to protect legitimate interests.
Once the applicable retention periods have expired, the data will be deleted or anonymised.
15 – UNIVERSAL AFIR does not disclose personal data to third parties, except where necessary to comply with legal obligations or where consent has been provided by the data subject.
16 – A UNIVERSAL AFIR pode partilhar os dados pessoais com: UNIVERSAL AFIR may share personal data with:
a) service providers, such as IT and website hosting service providers;
b) companies belonging to the RAMADA Group or partner entities of UNIVERSAL AFIR, where consent has been provided for this purpose;
c) public authorities, in compliance with legal obligations, such as the Tax Authority or judicial authorities.
17 – UNIVERSAL AFIR implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure or unauthorised access, ensuring its integrity and confidentiality.
18 – UNIVERSAL AFIR may amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Any such amendments shall take effect from the date on which they are made available on the UNIVERSAL AFIR Website.
